Open QR Maker

Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Summary

This tool generates QR codes entirely in your browser. Your input content (URLs, WiFi passwords, vCard fields, message bodies, and anything else you type) never leaves your device and is never sent to any server.

With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand which features are used and guide improvements. We never log the content of your QR codes.

What we collect (with consent)

If you accept analytics in the cookie banner, Google Analytics 4 records pseudonymous usage events such as:

  • Which input mode you chose (text, URL, WiFi, vCard, email, SMS, phone, app store)
  • Which export format you downloaded (PNG, JPEG, WebP, SVG)
  • Whether you used a logo overlay
  • The error correction level you chose
  • Whether you copied, downloaded, or shared a code
  • Bucketed batch sizes (e.g. “11–25”)
  • Approximate location derived by Google Analytics
  • Device type and browser family

Google Analytics uses IP information to derive approximate location and security signals, then discards the IP before it is logged or stored. After consent, it can also assign a pseudonymous identifier stored in a cookie so we can measure repeat visits without knowing who you are.

What we never collect

  • The text, URLs, or data you encode into QR codes
  • WiFi passwords, vCard details, or any structured input fields
  • Names, email addresses, or other personal information
  • Files you upload (logo images are processed locally)
  • History entries stored on your device

Cookies

We store a small amount of data in your browser using a localStorage entry. This is not a cookie in the technical sense, but it is covered by the same GDPR rules.

Third parties

We do not use advertising tags, retargeting pixels, or scan-tracking redirects.

Your rights under GDPR

If you are in the EU or UK, you have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you
  • Have incorrect data rectified
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict processing
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

To withdraw analytics consent, use the at any time. You can also block Google Analytics entirely using your browser’s built-in privacy controls, a privacy extension, or by enabling the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. We honor GPC automatically and never show the consent banner when it’s enabled.
