For Apple, the only required part of the URL is the numeric ID (the digits after id in the link). Storefront paths and app-name slugs are optional; if you omit them, Apple chooses a storefront.

For Google Play, the identifier is the package name from the app manifest (e.g. com.whatsapp). The canonical URL format is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id= followed by that package name.

You can paste a full store URL into the input field and the form will extract the relevant identifier. This is handy when you copy the link from a browser address bar or from App Store Connect / Play Console.

Frequently asked

Can one QR code link to both the App Store and Google Play?
A QR code encodes a single URL. To cover both platforms with one code you need a smart-link redirect service (AppsFlyer OneLink, Branch, URLgenius, etc.) that detects the device and forwards to the right store. The simpler alternative is two codes side by side.
Where do I find my Apple App ID?
Open your app listing on apps.apple.com and look for the number after "id" in the URL (e.g. id310633997). In App Store Connect, the Apple ID is shown on the app information page.
Where do I find my Android package name?
Open your app on play.google.com and copy the value after "id=" in the URL (e.g. com.whatsapp). In the Play Console, the package name is on the app dashboard.
Should I include a country code in the App Store URL?
Usually no. Omitting the storefront lets Apple choose what to show, while hardcoding one can keep users on a listing localized for the wrong market. Only include it for single-market materials.
